Discover the Future of Aerospace and Defence with GEHR® Materials
In the aerospace and defence industry, materials must withstand extreme conditions such as strong temperature fluctuations, cosmic radiation, and contact with chemicals. Our high-performance materials offer an excellent solution as they are lighter than metals, thus reducing fuel consumption.
Our high-performance materials are extremely stable and radiation-resistant, providing electrical insulation and high heat resistance. Before they can be used, the materials must meet special requirements, such as fire protection tests. Plastics that are not inherently flame retardant can be modified with a flame retardant additive (FR).
With the use of additive manufacturing, prototyping and small series production are affordable and quickly available. Our GEHR® materials for aerospace applications meet the requirements of FAR 25.853, including
» GEHR® PA6 FR
» GEHR® PPS und GEHR® PPS-40GF
» GEHR® PPSU
» GEHR® PEI
» GEHR® PEEK, GEHR® PEEK mod und GEHR® PEEK-30GF
FAR Part 25 is an important test for the use of materials in the aerospace industry and is mandated by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Upon customer request, we also offer these and further tests.
