IT´S OUR RESPONSIBILITY
Environmental protection and sustainability are of particular importance to us. Therefore, our product Portfolio comprises ECO-GEHR® semi-finished products which are based on renewable raw materials and have a positive carbon footprint. By the way, we have changed over to a 100 % green electricity supply for the production in our main production plant.
We also take social responsibility very seriously. Our social responsibility activities include the support of institutions of higher education and of young academic talents. Sponsoring regional projects is of great importance to us. For us, global presence and local commitment are not mutually exclusive.

Environmental - and energy policy
From 2016 on: 100% renewable electricity
Since 2016 we obtain our total electricity demand from renewable sources.
LED technology at GEHR Mannheim
100% of our entire lighting system in the Mannheim plant we have changed to LED technology, which is by far more energy efficient.
1st Prize: Environment Award of the City of Mannheim
We were honoured with the Environment Award of the City of Mannheim which ran under the motto “Economize for the Future”.
Social responsibility
MANNHEIM DECLARATION Living Together in Diversity
We are a partner of the Mannheim Declaration – Living Together in Diversity. Counteracting discrimination with respect and appreciation and strengthening “peaceful coexistence in diversity” is the basic idea behind this declaration.
Supporting local sports
We provide financial support to “our” regional football clubs VfL Kurpfalz Mannheim-Neckarau and SC Rot-Weiß 1952 Rheinau. These clubs are highly committed to youth work and entice young people from the streets to the football pitch.

Our success and our innovative capacity can only be ensured with highly-qualified employees. Therefore we continually invest in their training and competence. To keep our employees fit and healthy, we support numerous programmes to promote health and fitness.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING
We understand vocational training for young people as social responsibility and task for the following generations.

For this pen we make a triangular tube from recycled polypropylene for the SCHWAN STABILO company. To Benefit the environment, 79% of the entire pen is recycled plastic.

WHISTLEBlower SYSTEM
Ethical principles are the basis of our society. They therefore also form the basis for behavior in economic life. GEHR has adopted conduct guidelines that oblige all employees to act ethically. Misconduct should be recognized early on, which is why all GEHR employees and business partners have the opportunity to report violations within the company within the framework of the Whistleblower Protection Act.
What violations can be reported:
- All violations that are threatened with a penalty can be reported by people who provide information.
- These violations include administrative offenses if the violated norm serves to protect life, limb and health.
- The prerequisite is always that the violations relate to the company with which the person providing the information has professional contact.
Reports of violations are made anonymously and can now be sent to our representative for the Whistleblower Protection Act
